TCP CODE 2024 REVIEW
Stage 3: Formal consultation on a new Code
Note: updates are provided in reverse chronological order
May 2025 Update
Between February and May 2025, the TCP Code Drafting Committee (DC) reviewed and considered:
- all submissions received in response to the public comment draft;
- a number of practical implementation issues and editorial issues raised directly or indirectly by CSPs represented on the drafting committee (all transparently recorded);
- a letter from the ACMA (8 April) about key issues of concern; and
- the expected overlap/ interplay between the Code and the following instruments, all of which are new or have been the subject of change or review in 2025: the proposed Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Standard; proposed amendments to the Customer ID Determination; new updates to the Complaint Handling Standard; new outages rules; and a number of related Code updates.
Changes to the draft TCP Code were made in light of feedback received.
All comments received (including the DC’s rationale for accepting or not accepting suggested changes), recorded in the ‘public comment log’.
To ensure continued transparency of process, and allow submitters to understand how and why their comments have been managed in the way that they have, the public comment log has been shared on the CA website, complete with an updated draft of the TCP Code, as submitted to the ACMA.
See Stage 4 – Submission to the ACMA – for details.
Public consultation on draft DR C628:2025: TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSUMER PROTECTIONS CODE closed on 28 February 2025.
