COMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR VOICE TO PARLIAMENT

Sydney, 21 February 2023: The industry association for the Australian communications sector has come out in support of the creation of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.

At its most recent meeting the Board of Directors of Communications Alliance Ltd resolved that: “A Voice to Parliament is a reasonable and practical step for Australia to take, and is only achievable via a referendum.”

The Board also decided to communicate this view to Prime Minister Albanese and the leaders of the Coalition Parties and the Greens, as well as to other Federal Government Ministers and stakeholders within the “Yes” campaign.

A copy of the letter to the Prime Minister is attached.

Many of the members of Communications Alliance are also looking at ways in which they can communicate and disseminate relevant material to their staff.
