The Migration of Legacy Services Industry Guidance Note provides:
  • guidance to nbn, Retail Service Providers (RSPs), Application Service Providers (ASPs) and cablers who will need to interact with customers migrating their telecommunications and legacy services (including monitored medical alarms, security alarm panels, monitored fire alarms and lift emergency phones) onto the NBN;
  • information to suppliers of legacy services wired into and relying on the existing telecommunications service cabling in a customer’s premises to operate effectively; and
  • guidance to improve the provision of accurate information and answers to customers’ questions where issues arise in regard to their alarm services.
This Industry Guidance Note addresses the various NBN access networks under the Multi-Technology Mix (MTM) including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Node/Building (FTTN/B) and Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC).
