New Telecoms Consumer Code applies to all TIO Members
– Message from Communications Alliance CEO, John Stanton
The Telecommunications Consumer Protections (TCP) Code is being overhauled, with important consequences for all service providers. The Code, which is maintained by Communications Alliance and will apply to all members of the TIO scheme, outlines what service providers must do to ensure that consumer rights are protected.
Communications Alliance invites all TIO Scheme members to attend a webcast presentation on the major changes in the new Code and what they mean for service providers.
The draft Code is expected to be released for public comment during May 2011, so the webcast is an opportunity for service providers to gain an early understanding of the new provisions before the Code comes into force.
The Government has signalled a much stronger approach to ensuring that all service providers comply with the TCP Code, so we are keen to raise awareness across the industry. The Webcast will canvass the changes in code provisions governing complaint handling, consumer contracts, credit management, consumer information, compliance and more.
