ACIF held a Financial Hardship Policy Workshop to assist industry members in understanding and meeting their obligations.

The Workshop will begin with an overview of requirements on service providers, under the revised ACIF C541:2005 Credit Management Industry Code. This will be followed by a brief review on the steps to be taken by an organisation in the development of a policy.

Catherine Roncon from the ANZ Bank will share her experience in the development and implementation of a financial hardship policy.

The Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF) is holding Symposia For A Single Consumer Code For Telecommunications in sydney and Melbourne.

ACIF has submitted both the Consumer Contracts Industry Code and Prices, Terms and Conditions Code to the Australian Communication Authority (ACA) for registration. Once the Consumer Contracts Code has been registered, suppliers will be given six months to remove unfair and unintelligible terms out of millions of customer contracts.

These workshops will highlight the changes required to ensure contracts, advertising and customer information comply with these Codes.
