ACIF G629:2006 Interim VoIP Location Indicator for Emergency Services Signalling SpecificationACIF G629_2006 (.pdf, 292 KB) Specifies the interim industry procedures for the transfer of correct caller location information from VoIP Service Providers and their respective Transit Service Deliverers to the Emergency Call Person for VoIP calls to Emergency Service Numbers. ACIF G629:2006 and ACIF G557:2007 make reference to ‘nomadic services’, ‘fixed local services’, ‘public mobile telecommunications services (PMTS)’ and ‘satellite services’. The amended Telecommunications (Emergency Call Service) Determination 2002 (the Determination) of 2 November 2007 makes reference to location independent communications services (LICS) - with LICS being a service which is neither a fixed local service nor a PMTS nor a satellite service. There is currently no definition of ‘nomadic services’ or any specific ABC Codes for LICS in ACIF G629:2006 and ACIF G557:2007. The use of a “Nomadic Service” ABC Code from ACIF G557:2007 to provide location information could align with a LICS because there are separate ABC Codes in ACIF G557:2007 for fixed local services, public mobile telecommunications services and satellite services. |
