ACIF G606:2002 defines the processes and procedures relating to the management of the Standardised Mobile Service Area (SMSA) Register (ACIF G557:2006) for use by the Australian public mobile telecommunications industry.

The SMSA Register is a pack of 46 compressed files that define the SMSAs for use in the interim signalling of mobile location.

Note: The Guideline was reconfirmed in 2006 and the next review is scheduled to occur in August 2011.
