It was recently reported (Exchange, 6 April 2007) that a new industry association may be created to represent the interests of smaller VoIP providers in Australia. According to the article the primary focus of the new body would be to counter the perceived dominance in Communications Alliance‘s VoIP working groups by the large mainstream carriers; notably Telstra and Optus.
