VDSL2
Communications Alliance invites participation in its new activity to define the Australian requirements for VDSL2 modems and services, and their interworking with other DSL services. This will extend the existing range of available DSL technologies (e.g. ADSL2+, ESHDSL) to incorporate the latest developments. VDSL2 enables theoretical data rates on the access link of up to 100Mbps in both the upstream and downstream directions.
The activity will be aligned with the ITU T Recommendation G.993.2 for “Very high speed digital subscriber line transceivers 2”, to give VDSL2 its full name. Contact Communications Alliance for more information.
SCAMS target YOU
The Australian Consumer Fraud Taskforce, part of the ACCC, has devised a month-long SCAMwatch campaign to raise consumer awareness about attacks from scammers. The campaign will run from 6 - 31 March and provide information about the different ways that consumers are at risk and the steps they can take to protect themselves. Focussing on a separate theme each week the campaign will inform consumers about how to protect their money, phones, computers and identities, plus how to recognise and avoid scams.
Remember the SCAMwatch golden rule: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!
