Australian Centre for Broadband Innovation (ACBI)

The Australian Centre for Broadband Innovation (ACBI) was established by the NSW Government, together with CSIRO and NICTA, two of Australia's prominent research institutions.  ACBI will establish a large scale testbed network, including fibre, wireless and satellite access, covering metropolitan, suburban and regional areas.  Beginning in Sydney, shortly to connect to Armidale NSW, ACBI will grow to have a national footprint.

Through ACBI, industry will be able to prove the readiness of ICT platforms for Australia's planned broadband infrastructure and will be able to showcase applications developed to take advantage of ubiquitous, high speed broadband. Government will see lighthouse projects delivered, proving the benefits of broadband to different communities.

Communications Alliance will be scheduling an information session in the near future for you to find out more about the opportunity that ACBI represents for your company.  For any immediate enquiries, please contact Gary Doherty of CSIRO gary.doherty@csiro.au
