- Broadband Internet Speed Claims and the Trade Practices Act 1974  

A promise is nothing until it’s delivered.
Internet service providers advertising broadband internet speeds which cannot be delivered to the ‘real world consumer’ risk breaching the provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974.

Communications Alliance is hosting an industry briefing by the ACCC following their discussion paper Broadband Internet Speed Claims and the Trade Practices Act 1974 issued in January 2007.

The ACCC will address industry representatives to help them understand their obligations when advertising broadband services and how to take steps to remain compliant with the Trade Practices Act.
