The final two of the seven NBN project teams – Operational and End User Migration – will be formally commencing their activity at the end of October.
Interested members are invited to register for the project team, including these two newer ones, which will also provide full access to the NBN Wiki. Accessibility Information Code published
The Information on Accessibility Features for Telephone Equipment Industry Code (C625:2009) and accompanying Guideline (G627:2009) have been published and are available at Consumer Related Code and Guidelines.
The Code aims to ensure all importers and manufacturers of telephone handsets provide information about product features that can enhance accessibility for people with a disability and older people. The information is provided in the form of a matrix as described in the Guideline.
Suppliers of mobile handsets can also meet these obligations by making information about accessible features available via the Mobile Manufacturers Forum’s Global Accessibility Reporting Initiative (GARI). Suppliers of System Integral Terminals (SITs) are required to provide a publicly available contact point within their organisation for inquiries on the accessibility features of these terminals, to facilitate the understanding of the dependency of these terminals when used with customer access equipment, such as PABX systems.
